<br />52 B-1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the Ci Mana er <br /> <br />January 10, 2005 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance - 2003-2004 Slurry Seal Project <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the 2003-2004 Slurry Seal Project, and authorize the release of Payment Bond <br />and retention to American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing Co., Inc. <br /> <br />Background <br />As part of the continuous Roadway Improvement Program, approximately 270,000 <br />square yards of roadway was resurfaced with slurry seal. <br /> <br />On July 26, 2004, the City Council awarded the construction contract for 2003-2004 <br />Slurry Seal Project to American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing Co., Inc. of Hayward, <br />California, for their low bid of $311,269.90. <br /> <br />The project has been successfully completed in accordance with the Plans and <br />Specifications for a total cost of $311,467.20. One change order was issued in the <br />amount of $197.30 for the adjustment of quantities. <br /> <br />Alternatives <br />Do not accept the 2003-2004 Slurry Seal Project, which would be contrary to prior <br />Council action. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $800,000 were appropriated in the 2004-2005 Capital <br />Improvement Program budget as part of the Gas Tax Construction and Transportation <br />(Measure "A") Funds for the Roadway Management System.
