<br />~.A-9 <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />CITIZENS OPTION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY <br />(COPS) FUNDS <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Redwood City will hold a public <br />hearing on the expenditure of $110,267 in state grant funds. These funds were <br />awarded through the Citizens Option for Public Safety (COPS) program. The <br />funds must be used for front line law enforcement services, including personnel, <br />equipment, and programs necessary to meet police service needs within <br />Redwood City. The City Council will consider and determine written requests <br />submitted by the Police Chief for the expenditure of funds received. <br /> <br />It will be the recommendation of the Police Chief to dedicate $100,730 this year's <br />award to the salaries and benefits of new police officers and $9,537 for Law <br />Enforcement equipment. <br /> <br />You have the right to comment on the proposed expenditure at a public hearing <br />to be held on the 10th day of January, 2005, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, <br />1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City California. Testimony must either be given <br />in person at he time of the public hearing or received, in writing, by the police <br />department prior to the date of the hearing.
