TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD C 6.13. - Page 21 <br />AND REDWOOD CITY POLICE SERGEANTS ASSOCIATION (PSA) <br />19.3 City's Contribution to Retirement System <br />The City shall pay the rate prescribed by the Public Employees' Retirement System for <br />employer contributions to the Public Employees' Retirement System in accordance with <br />the rules and regulations governing such employer contributions. <br />In accordance with Section 20516(f) of the Government Code: <br />Effective the first full pay Period beginning on or after September 1. 2011, each unit <br />member shall pay two Percent (2 %) toward the employer cost of retirement. <br />Effective the first full pay period beginning on or after September 1. 2012 each unit <br />member shall pay an additional two percent (2 %) for a total of four percent (4 %) toward <br />the employer cost of retirement. <br />Effective the first full Pay period beginning on or after September 1. 2013, each unit <br />member shall Pay an additional three percent (3 %) for a total of seven percent (7 %) <br />toward the employer cost of retirement. <br />The contributions shall not be credited to the employee account at CalPERS and shall <br />not be reimbursed to the contributor by the City at any time for any reason. <br />If the Redwood City Police Officers' Association contribution toward the employer cost of <br />retirement stops in the future, then it shall stop at the same time for the PSA and the <br />contract provisions regarding contribution to retirement system shall be reopened for <br />negotiation. <br />If beginning on or after the first full pav period of September 1. 2013, the employer rate <br />for retirement for the bargaining unit is less than thirty -seven percent (37 %), the <br />employee contribution toward the emplover cost of retirement will be reduced by one <br />percent (1 %) for each full one percent reduction in the employer rate below 37 %. <br />June 3, 2011 — City <br />Page 10 <br />
