6.1.B. - Page 57 <br />Recommended Changes to <br />Executive Management Summary of Benefits <br />Term: July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013 <br />Salary: Adjustment to salary ranged based on survey results consistent with the <br />existing compensation plan. No change is proposed. The City will <br />evaluate salary compaction of Executive Management employees. <br />Medical Coverage: <br />Effective January 1, 2012 the City will provide a monthly Cafeteria Plan Allowance <br />equal to ninety percent (90 %) of the premium of the health plan and level of coverage <br />selected by the employee, up to ninety percent (90 %) of the CalPERS Bay Area <br />Kaiser Family Premium per employee, minus applicable administration fees. <br />Currently funds remaining following the purchase of medical coverage may be <br />credited to the employee's flexible spending accounts. Effective January 1, 2012, no <br />remaining Cafeteria plan funds shall be credited to the employee's flexible spending <br />accounts. An employee who currently opts out of health plan coverage is eligible to <br />receive approximately 50% of the City contribution as cash. Effective January 1, <br />2012 an employee who opts out of health plan coverage will receive $200 per month <br />as cash. <br />Dental and Vision Insurance: <br />Effective January 1, 2012, the City will pay ninety percent (90 %) of the dental and <br />vision insurance premium for eligible employees and dependents. This is a reduction <br />from a City payment of 100 %. <br />Retirement: <br />January 1, 2012, each unit member shall pay two and one -half percent (2.5 %) toward <br />the employer cost of retirement. <br />January 1, 2013, each unit member shall pay an additional two and one -half percent <br />(2.5 %) for a total of five percent (5 %) toward the employer cost of retirement. <br />Covered Classifications <br />The positions of Executive Assistant to the City Manager and Senior Human <br />Resources Analyst shall be covered under the Executive Management Summary of <br />Benefits. These classifications currently receive the benefits provided employees in <br />the Redwood City Management Employees Association (RCMEA). They shall <br />continue to receive benefits and compensation, and future adjustments, equal to <br />those received by employees in the RCMEA. <br />
