<br /> 5.4A <br /> Page 14 <br /> U UT 'nstruction Letter <br /> [Don Maynor) <br /> Dear Telephone Service Provider: <br /> Notwithstanding the recent IRS Notice 2006-50 (May 25,2006), the undersigned UUT Tax <br /> Administrator hereby directs all providers of telecommunication services with Redwood City <br /> to continue to impose and collect the city's UUT on interstate long distance <br /> telecommunication services, whether such long distance services are bundled or <br /> unbundled, wired or wireless, unless and until a final California appellate court decision is <br /> rendered that directs the public agencies to discontinue imposing such taxes, in part or in <br /> whole. <br /> Please be advised that by following these directions your company will be subject to the <br /> legal protections afforded by California Public Utilities Code Section 799. .
