Based on the community's need for housing and the proximity of the site to <br /> downtown, the Planning Commission recommends that the City Council initiate a <br /> General Plan Amendment from the existing General Plan land Use Designation of <br /> "Commercial- Office Park" to "Heavy Commercial- Mixed Use" for property located <br /> at 333 Main Street; and <br /> 2. Based on the community's need for housing and the proximity of the site to <br /> downtown, the Planning Commission recommends that the City Council initiate a <br /> Zoning Map Amendment from the existing "Industrial Park" (IP) Zoning District to <br /> the "General Commercial - Combined Residential" (CG-R) Zoning District for <br /> property located at 333 Main Street. <br /> Staff: <br /> 1. Based on the findings herein, staff recommends that the City Council not initiate a <br /> General Plan Amendment from the existing General Plan land Use Designation of <br /> "Commercial - Office Park" to "Heavy Commercial- Mixed Use" for property located <br /> at 333 Main Street; and <br /> 2. Based on the findings herein, staff recommends that the City Council not initiate a <br /> Zoning Map Amendment from the existing "Industrial Park" (IP) Zoning District to <br /> the "General Commercial - Combined Residential" (CG-R) Zoning District for <br /> property located at 333 Main Street. <br /> Issue <br /> A local real estate development firm wishes to redevelop 333 Main Street with housing. <br /> The existing General Plan land Use Designation and the Zoning District classification do <br /> not allow housing. <br /> _.. <br />
