07/21/2003 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14539 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS A PROPOSED MEASURE AT THE <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, <br />NOVEMBER 4, 2003, AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO <br />PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Charter, a General Municipal Election <br />consolidated with the San Mateo County General Election, shall be held on November <br />4, 2003, for the election of Municipal Officers; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City, California, desires to <br />submit to the voters of the city at a General Municipal Election a proposed measure <br />relating to the transient occupancy tax; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized and directed by statute to submit the <br />proposed measure to the voters. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the City Council pursuant to its right and authority under California <br />law, hereby orders that the following question be submitted to the qualified electors of <br />the City of Redwood City at a General Municipal Election on November 4, 2003: <br />Should Section 32.75 of the municipal code of the city of Redwood <br />City be amended to increase the uniform transient occupancy tax <br />by2 %? <br />2.
