EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF REDWOOD . <br /> CITY <br /> 2. Introduction ot Ordinance: <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION <br /> OF CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CITY <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> 5.3 Section — Warrants <br /> A. Approve warrants dated through March 8, 2004 and usual and necessary <br /> payments through March 22, 2004; MINUTE ORDER 04-40 <br /> 6. STAFF REPORTS <br /> A. Caltrain Service: Baby Bullet and High Speed Rail <br /> Engineering and Construction Manager Patterson gave the report and introduced <br /> _ staff from the Joint Powers Board to answer questions. <br /> Council questions ensued and responses given. <br /> Recommendation: • <br /> Information only. There was no recommendation from staff at this time. <br /> B. Agreement for Business License Compliance Services <br /> Financial Services Director Ponty explained the background on the report and that <br /> the topic was first before the Council on February 9 at which time Council direction <br /> was to negotiate options or a more favorable fee arrangement to the original <br /> proposal. MMC staff provided several alternatives with the most advantageous <br /> being a reduction in their proposed fee from 45% to 40% of the new revenues the <br /> City receives as a result of their efforts. The recommendation is that Council <br /> approve this recommendation based on the results MMC has obtained for the <br /> cities of San Mateo and Belmont. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> M/S Hartnett/Gain to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with <br /> MBIA MuniServices Company tp provide the City of Redwood City with a Business <br /> License Tax Compliance Program which consists of Business License Discovery <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 8, 2004 <br /> MINUTES PAGE 3 <br />
