< < <br /> � � b-I <br /> REPOR T <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> � From the City Manager <br /> March 22, 2004 <br /> Subject <br /> Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding Agreements for FY 2003-2004 <br /> Recommendation <br /> Approve operating agreements for public service and capital projects for Caminar, Second <br /> Harvest Food Bank and Kainos Home & Training Center <br /> Background <br /> Each year the City receives an entitlement of Community Development Block Grant <br /> (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership (HOME) funds from the US Department of <br /> Housing and Urban Development. The program activities provide a range of intervention <br /> and supportive services to Redwood City citizens, ranging from homeless activities to <br /> capital projects which improve the quality of life for low income neighborhoods <br /> The City Council approved these programs and activities on April 28, 2003 as part of the <br /> Fourth Annual Action Plan of the City's new Five-year Consolidated Plan for 2000-2005. <br /> The Council is now being asked to approve the operating agreements to allow Finance to <br /> � disburse funds as these organizations incur costs. These 3 non-profit organizations will <br /> collectively provide assistance to approximately 232 Redwood City residents who are low <br /> income or have special needs.
