Box 391
Redwood City, CA 94064
Re: Redwood Shores Branch Library
Mayor Ira:
Congratulations to the Council, City sff and the consultant team on the award of a state
grant for a new branch libtarY in Redwood Shores. We know that a tremendous amount of
effort went into the preparation of the application along with support from the community.
At our March Board meeting, the Redwrood Shores Community Associarion (RSCA)
"- reaffirmed our support and advocacy for the construction of a new branch library in
Redwood Shores. While the state grant will go a long way in achieving the goal of a new
library, we understand tliat more is needed, particularly given the city's current financial
challenees.
RSCA is committed to being an active coiamuniry participant with the City and the Library
Foundztion in this project. We will make aur montlily newsletter, the Pilot, and our
website available for infotmation on the ject and ensure that community meetings are
Pro
publicized. Our Board will provide the "human capital" that is needed to help a project
such as this one through the development and commimity ptocess. Finally, we undetstand
that the state grant is not enough. RSCA is committed to being a parmer with the Library
Foundation in future :und-caising efforts.
This project will go a long way towards "completing" our community and is a priority for
us. It is our goal and desire to help bring the vision of a new branch library in Redwood
Shores to reality.
Very tt-µl y rs
r_-
. -
 __
Jeffrey Gee, President
r-- Redwood Shores Community Association
Cc S Coopermaa Presidrnt, Redwood City Library Fowdatiofi
