To the Honorable Mayar and Cityr Council I From the City Manager �pril 26; �2004 ` Subject 2003-2004 Cost Shared Sidewalk Repair Project Recommendation By Motion, accept completed improvements for the 2003-2004 Cost Shared Sidewalk Repair Project, and release the contract retention to Consolidated Consortium Corp. Background The contract was duly advertised and three sealed bids were received and opened at the Office of the City Engineer on April 9, 2003. On May 19, 2003 the City Council approved the contract documents and specifications and awarded the contract to Consolidated Consortium Corp. (CC Corp), in the amount of 5270,100.00. The contract was terminated on M2rch 31, 2004. The contract was 85.7% complete. The breakdown of contract expenditures and property owner co-payments were: �. Final Contract Amount Original ContractAmount $270,100.00 Completed contract work - $231,425.32 j85.7%) CIP Balance retained $ 38,674.68 Final Contract Expenditures bv Citv Final Contract Amount $231,425.32 100% Property Owner Co-payments ($ 88.396A2) 38.2% Total Expenditures by City $143,029.30 61.8% The contractor performed sidewalk repairs at locations where property owners paid one- half the cost of repairs. Wheel chair ramps were constructed at corner locations requested by residents at no cost to adjacent property owners. Tree grates were installed at focations to plant newtrees. Concrete repairs were made at locations requested bythe City's water and sewer maintenance sections. Additionally, CC Corp assisted the City with improvements at the Main Library creating a ramp to the parking lot.
