Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council, by resolution, approve a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Service Employees' International Union Local 715 for the period of February 1, 2004 through January 31,2008. It is also recommended that the City Council, by resolution, approve the January 23, 2006 and January 22, 2007 amendments of the Salary and Wage Plan for the classifications represented by the Service Employees' International Union Local 715. Background The City and the Service Employees' International Union Local 715 have met and conferred on all matters relating to the terms and conditions of employment, and have - reached a tentative agreement on a new Memorandum of Understanding subject to City Council approval. The following is a summary of the economic tentative agreements: Term February 1, 2004 to January 31, 2008 Salary First year - Zero (0) Increase Second year - Zero (0) Increase Third year - Consumer Price Index Fourth year - Consumer Price Index Retirement Upon agreement with all bargaining units containing Miscellaneous employees and effective July 10,2006, the City will contract with PERS to amend its current retirement formula for Local Miscellaneous Members to the 2.7 @ 55 formula. Health & Dental Allows the City to Re-open contract and meet and confer regarding alternatives to both health and dental providers. Alternative Direct Staff to continue negotiations with Service Employees' International Union Local 715. -
