J';'C C -, <br /> :", ' ,",,' <br /> , ,.":c;r';;":;:::,'" <br /> '-, "~%'~J~'+"\' <br /> May 10, 2004 <br /> Subject <br /> By resolution (1) approve Memorandum of Understanding with the Service Employees' <br /> Intemational Union Local 715; (2) authorize amendments ofthe Salary and Wage Plan for <br /> classifications represented by the Service Employees' International Union Local 715 in <br /> January 23, 2006 and January 22, 2007. <br /> Recommendation <br /> It is recommended that the City Council, by resolution, approve a new Memorandum of <br /> Understanding with the Service Employees' International Union Local 715 for the period of <br /> February 1, 2004 through January 31,2008. It is also recommended that the City Council, <br /> by resolution, approve the January 23, 2006 and January 22, 2007 amendments of the <br /> Salary and Wage Plan for the classifications represented by the Service Employees' <br /> International Union Local 715. <br /> Background <br /> The City and the Service Employees' International Union Local 715 have met and <br /> conferred on all matters relating to the terms and conditions of employment, and have <br /> - reached a tentative agreement on a new Memorandum of Understanding subject to City <br /> Council approval. The following is a summary of the economic tentative agreements: <br /> Term February 1, 2004 to January 31, 2008 <br /> Salary First year - Zero (0) Increase <br /> Second year - Zero (0) Increase <br /> Third year - Consumer Price Index <br /> Fourth year - Consumer Price Index <br /> Retirement Upon agreement with all bargaining units containing <br /> Miscellaneous employees and effective July 10,2006, the City <br /> will contract with PERS to amend its current retirement formula <br /> for Local Miscellaneous Members to the 2.7 @ 55 formula. <br /> Health & Dental Allows the City to Re-open contract and meet and confer <br /> regarding alternatives to both health and dental providers. <br /> Alternative <br /> Direct Staff to continue negotiations with Service Employees' International Union Local <br /> 715. <br /> - <br />
