_ ' �� <br /> � <br /> REPORT _ .--. . <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the Ci Mana er <br /> July 26, 2004 <br /> Subject <br /> Redwood Shores Community Library Update <br /> Status <br /> The Redwood Shores Community Library project is in the Schematic Design phase. The <br /> project team has been set with representatives from the City, Library and Architects. A <br /> project schedule has been approved and is on-time. The Library will open August of <br /> 2007. <br /> This Library will be a wonderful mix of community meeting spaces that double as <br /> homework centers and/or classrooms, and all will be available after-hours; and a full- <br /> service high-tech community library with spaces for all ages: family space, teen area, <br /> quiet zones, living room with fireplace, information commons and a bookstore look for <br /> new books and media. An interactive interpretive center and a caf� also are <br /> programmed. <br /> Community Meeting Dates <br /> A community meeting is scheduled for 7:OOpm, August 17 at Pelican Cove. This meeting is <br /> open for all residents to be updated on the project and to also give feedback. The Redwood <br /> Shores Community Association's PILOT will advertise the meeting date. <br /> Fundraising <br /> The Redwood City Public Library Foundation has formed a strategic plan for raising funds for <br /> the opening day materials collection. Georgi LaBerge is the campaign chair and she has all <br /> members of the Foundation involved.
