- 5.lD-1 fi{E.F':'(jRI :[othelionorable Mayor and City Council From the City Manager January 26, 2004 , Subject: Antenna Site License Agreement with the Oracle Corporation Recommendation: Authorize the Police Chief to sign the Antenna Site License Agreement with Oracle Corporation that allows the police department to install a Mobile Data Base Station at 400 Oracle Parkway, Redwood City, CA 94065. Background: The police department currently has a radio voice transmitter and repeating base stations installed on the roof of the building at 400 Oracle Parkway, which is owned by the Oracle Corporation. The department wants to add a Mobile Data Base Station at the same location on the roof of 400 Oracle Parkway. The Mobile Data Base Station allows officers to use their patrol vehicle computers to send police reports to the station, and obtain registration and warrant information on vehicles and subjects in the field. The department would install a new Mobile Data Base Station at the location to improve the coverage of the Mobile Data System, eliminate dead spots, and provide a more reliable connection to the main server at the department where officers electronically send police reports. Oracle Corporation requires a signed Antenna Site License Agreement before the equipment can be installed at 400 Oracle Parkway. Alternative: Council may instruct the police department to look at other building sites to install the mobile data equipment. Fiscal Impact: The Antenna License Agreement states the department will pay a monthly utility charge of $125 to Oracle Corporation for electricity charges for the Mobile Data Base Station.
