I .1 I . . I . . -
1ß.18. t
'--
April 12, 2004 ~
Subject
Approval of Parcel Map No. 2003-05 - S1. Pius Catholic Church located at
1100 Woodside Road
Recommendation
Approve Parcel Map No. 2003-05 extinguishing an existing public street easement, and
accepting on behalf of the public all streets and public service easements offered for
dedication by S1. Pius Catholic Church, for public use.
Background
On July 16, 2003, Community Development Services Department approved the
Architectural Permit and Use Permit to allow the construction of a new 19,000 square
foot multi-purpose facility to accommodate the S1. Pius Church Parish events and
activities.
The new building (a replacement of an existing facility) is located at 1100 Woodside
Road (intersection of Woodside Road and Valota Road).
'-- During the building permit review process, it was apparent that a parcel map was
required to consolidate several adjacent small areas of church-owned land, to allow for
the new building to be built without encroaching over their lot lines. The Map will also
solidify the public street status of the cul-de-sac portion of Sierra Street, from being a
street easement to a public street, dedicated by the Church. The Church also offers
two strips of land for public service easements.
The firm of Kier & Wright (the Church's surveyors) has completed the Parcel Map in
accordance with the Subdivision Map Act, Redwood City Ordinances, and to the
satisfaction of Engineering & Construction.
A complete copy of the Map is available for review in the City Clerk's Office.
Fiscal Impacts
There are no fiscal impacts to the City. All work associated with this project is being
paid for by S1. Pius Catholic Church.
-pi,,'] ~ fJ. ~~ r2(~
Phong Du Bruce liedstrand Ed Everett
Senior Civil Engineer Community Development Services Director City Manager
JP/Pdu:ss
- sIIibrary/reports/PhongLParcel Map ApprovaLSt Pius Church_PM 2003_O5
