Proclamation: Seniors in the Community <br /> Betty Moran, Chairperson of the Senior Affairs Commission, thanked Council and <br /> invited the community to the Senior Center, 780-7270, on Thursday, May 13 at <br /> lunch where guest speaker Supervisor Mike Nevin will be speaking. Bob Page, <br /> Chairperson of the Veterans Memorial Senior Center Advisory Council and Linda <br /> Griffith, Community Services Manager of the Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> were also present to receive the proclamation. <br /> Chairperson Moran then explained the video being shown was assembled for the <br /> American Society on Aging and the National Council on Aging for a site visit after <br /> being one of 17 chosen out of 450. The focus of the site visit was being a values <br /> driven organization and how the organization, staff and community can come <br /> together and build an incredible collaborative effort. <br /> 6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAFt <br /> Claire Steel, speaking on behalf of the American Cancer Society, spoke about the <br /> Relay for Life to be held at Sequoia High School on May 15-16 from 10:00 a.m. — <br /> 10:00 a.m. She invited everyone to go out and participate in the event. <br /> Pat Dixon asked Council to view the tallest building of Oracle's group on Marine, <br /> adding half again the height to picture what 17 stories will look like. She further <br /> suggested viewing the cement tanks at the end of the Port and doubling the height. <br /> Another example she posed was while driving on 101-North to South San Francisco <br /> where just to the east there is a 17 story building. She stated that Marina Shores in its <br /> location at Pete's Harbor is out of line. She further stated her idea of where it should <br /> go is after the Bayfront extension going through there is an opportunity to use some <br /> land in front of Pacific Shores where people can drive boats in the back, park in the <br /> front and a shuttle system. <br /> Hartnett/Ruskin to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br /> title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.
