C�.2� - <br /> I <br /> REPORT <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> � - - `- <br /> <: <br /> Monday, June 7, 2004 � <br /> Subject <br /> Disposal of Surplus Property <br /> Recommendation <br /> Approve a resolution declaring City Hall server room equipment as surplus. <br /> Background <br /> The Information Technology Division of the Finance Department has various pieces of <br /> computer equipment in the City Hall server room such as servers, communication routers, <br /> and switches that have been retired due to their length in service. <br /> Government Code Section 37351 and Section 3-1/2 of the Charter of the City of Redwood <br /> City as amended, permits the sale of any City personal property having an appraised value <br /> of five thousand dollars or less without public notice or public bid for any reasonable <br /> amount, irrespective of its appraised value. It also allows the City to dispose of surplus <br /> property no longer required or needed for present, prospective municipal or public purpose <br /> without sale. <br /> A total of ten pieces of equipment are to be surplused per the attached list. (Exhibit A) <br /> Alternative <br /> Continue to collect and store the surplus property in the server room; however, this <br /> property is taking up valuable space at City Hall. <br /> Fiscal Impact <br /> The revenue from the sale of this surplus property will be returned to the Internal Services <br /> Fund. <br /> �� � <br /> / <br /> Sudhanshu Tikekar Brian Pon y Everett <br /> IT Senior Supervising Analyst Director of Finance City Manager <br /> Attachment: 1.
