Keith Harper of the Redwood City Police Department
requested that we propose the following to you. With your support we
would like to have a Classic Car Show on the 2600 block to promote
business for the merchants again this year. Last year it was a great
success and all the merchants participated. Approval by merchants is
overwhelming.
The cars would be parked from EI Camino to the tracks. If necessary
we can block off the street ourselves if it is too much to ask of the RCPD,
We know how busy they are with all the other activities. If it is necessary
for them to do it that's ok too. We are just trying to keep it simple. We
would however need the no parking signs posted before the fourth. We
would also provide private security as we did last year also. The show will
run from 8am-4pm. With set up starting at 7am.
We also feel this is an added attraction for the Celebration and has
been for many years just not on this street until last year. We would
appreciate your support in this matter. The businesses and especially the
Art Center are working very hard to be a part of the big picture on the
fourth. Your event does help bring more people Downtown Redwood City
and we thank you for your event and making this possible to help our
businesses.
Respectfully submitted,
Jerry Lami
Larry Knight
Lorretta Knight
Cc Sgt.
