W. 1 D~ 12 . .
Public Safetv:
1. Notify all parade entries in writing and on Parade day that a separation of 75 feet will be
maintained between units at that intersection.
2. Parade entries will be stopped prior to crossing the intersection if there is insufficient space
between them and the proceeding unit to completely pass through the intersection.
3. Entries containing multiple units may be separated as net:;ded when crossing that intersection.
Any need for unit separation will be detennined by parade .~upervisors on-site.
4. The PCA will provide 2 senior parade supervisors on Main Street to monitor the flow of units
through the intersection.
5. The PCA will provide 2 additional people at the intersection to monitor the fire equipment
parked outside of the Fire Station or on Bradford. At the fITSt activation of any combination
of flashing lights, sirens, or air horn, the parade will be halted and all participants and/or
vehicles will be cleared from the intersection.
6. No spectators will be allowed to be in the Bradford Street crosswalks at any time during the
parade.
No street venders of any kind are to be pennitted to operate along the Parade Route - or within the
Festival boundaries except those approved by the PCA.
Fireworks Area - Seaport Blvd.

The fireworks display will be conducted at the Port of Redwood City beginning at 9:30 PM on
Sunday, July 4.
The PCA requests the participation of the Police Boat to enforce the 1,000 feet safety zone between
the barge and any watercraft.
Street closures and traffic control measures needed to maintain the orderly flow of vehicle traffic and
for the safety of spectators will be detennined by the Police Department.
Two buses will need access to the fireworks area between 8:40 PM and 9:00 PM to bring extra PCA
support personnel to the fireworks area. Our July 4 event is conducted by a number of community
volunteers. Most of our key event coordinators move to and from various locations through the day.
For example, the people who are responsible for cleanup after the parade and festival activities are
also needed at the fireworks site.
The PCA would like the use of one -side (outbound) curb parking along Seaport Blvd from Pacific
Shores Center to Seaport Court, similar to last year. Certain unimproved shoulder area along the
Frontage Road would also be used for spectator parking. This would allow more spectators into the
Port area to view the fireworks display. The PCA will provide unifonned private security personnel
to facilitate the orderly flow of traffic and the parking of private vehicles along Seaport Blvd and the
frontage Road.
The PCA will provide additional unifonned private security officers in the Port area beginning at
6:00 PM.
PCA July 4th, 2004 Page 5 of JO
--
