SPECIAL ORDERS: <br /> Proclamation: Kaiser Redwood City Farmers' Market <br /> Mayor Pierce read the proclamation and Marketing Manager for Kaiser Permanente <br /> Certified Farmers' Market, Christopher Hanks, thanked Council for the <br /> acknowledgement. <br /> City Attorney 5-year Service Award: Mayor Pierce acknowledged the 5-year <br /> anniversary of City Attorney Yamamoto. <br /> Council Member Aguirre has participated and passed the certification for the basic <br /> Continuing Education Program for Mayors and Council Members through the League <br /> of California Cities. The program is voluntary and has three levels: Leadership, <br /> Advanced Leadership, and Leadership in Action. Mayor Pierce congratulated and <br /> thanked her for attending the program. <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCil <br /> MIS FoustlBain to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by <br /> title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. The motion <br /> passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br /> Cherlene Wright expressed her excitement about the downtown area with the cinema <br /> and restaurants opening. She also mentioned a complaint about a fence placed too <br /> close to a light post in front of Margarita's at 2098 Broadway stating that it is difficult to <br /> maneuver the sidewalk and the umbrella is too low. <br />6.1 Section - Motions - <br /> A. Disposal of Surplus Property <br /> Recommendation: <br /> By motion, authorize declaring the vehicles and equipment on the attached list <br /> surplus, and authorize staff to sell the items per City procedure <br /> MINUTE ORDER 06-159 <br /> B.
