<br />6.2A <br /> <br />REPORT Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />August 28, 2006 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance - 1204 Shasta Street Improvements <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />By motion, accept the construction improvements for 1204 Shasta Street, and release <br />the Security Deposit following the submission of a Maintenance Bond in the amount of <br />$16,710.00, in accordance with paragraph 8 of the Agreement. <br /> <br />Background <br />On March 15, 2005, the City Council approved the Agreement for construction <br />Improvements for a new commercial building project at 1204 Shasta Street. The <br />developers, Mr. Jesus Martinez and Xochiti E. Hart, have completed the construction of <br />improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications, and to the satisfaction <br />of Engineering and Construction Services. <br /> <br />The City-approved permits for the 1204 Shasta Street Project required the developers <br />to install a new fire hydrant, new handicap ramp, new curb & gutter, and to pave a <br />portion of Shasta Street. <br /> <br />The developers provided the Security Deposit in the amount of $167,100.00, which can <br />now be released following the submission of a Maintenance Bond in the amount of <br />$16.710.00. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The only alternative is to not accept the improvements, which would be contrary to <br />previous Council action. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />There are no fiscal impacts to the City for this project.
