<br />PUBLIC HEARINGS SCHEDULED FOR THE GOVERNOR'S HIGH RISK SEX <br />OFFENDER AND SEXUALLY VIOLENT PREDATOR TASK FORCE <br /> <br />7A <br />Page 34 <br /> <br />A number of public hearings have been sched- <br />uled next week to address public concerns relat- <br />ing to high risk sex offenders (HRSOs) and <br />Sexually Violent Predators (SVPs). <br /> <br />The meetings are scheduled as follows: <br /> <br />.. Broadway, Santa Ana <br /> <br />Gov. Schwarzenegger issued Executive Order <br />S-15-06 on August 15, which created the High <br />Risk Sex Offender and Sexually VIOlent Predator <br />(HRSO/SVP) Task Force to address the imple- <br />mentation of the recommendations from the High <br />Risk Sex Offender Task Force (HRSOTF) and to <br />provide recommendations on sexually violent <br />predators. <br /> <br />One of the HRSOTF's recommendations <br />stated that the Califomia Department of Correc- <br />tions and Rehabilitation (CDCR) should continue <br />its work with local law enforcement and communi- II <br />ties to find "appropriate and equitable housing <br />solutions" for paroled HRSOs and recommended <br />the HRSO/SVP Task Force to properly address <br />these issues. <br /> <br />In addition, the new task force, which is c0- <br />chaired by Assemblymernbers Rudy Bermudez <br />and Todd Spitzer, will review the "current statutory <br />requirements and state and local policies on <br />placement, notification and monitoring of sex <br /> <br />offenders."
