Vice Mayor Pierce - stated that the Redwood City Yellow Ribbon Committee has <br /> kicked off its drive and on the bins distributed throughout the city, there is <br /> information about the kinds of items our men and women overseas need. There <br /> is also a card writing drive for the care packages and Vice Mayor Pierce <br /> encouraged groups such as school classes, scouting troops or senior groups to <br /> participate. She encouraged checking the City website or contacting her for more <br /> information. <br /> D. Council Member Howard - stated that the ferry boat ride from the Port of <br /> Redwood City to the newly refurbished terminal in San Francisco was an <br /> excellent experience. The money planned to start water transit in South San <br /> Francisco and Redwood City is included in Measure A on the November ballot. <br /> E. Mayor Ira - stated that after analysis of the last election with a large voter turnout <br /> found that the entire ballot did not reflect that turnout. Hereminded people to <br /> please vote the entire ballot that contains many important issues for the city, <br /> county and state. <br /> 8. She was a Redwood City resident; 7th and 8th grade school <br /> teacher; wife of San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney, Jack Grandsaert; and <br /> mother of three children.
