ð. /.6'- /

REPORT

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the City Manager

May 23, 2005

Subject
Investment Policy

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council approve the existing City of Redwood City
Investment Policy without changes.

Background
The government code requires that the City's Investment Policy be presented to Council
for review and approval each year. The City's practice is to first present the Investment
Policy to the Finance Committee, consisting of Mayor Jeff Ira and Council Member
Rosanne Foust, for review and approval of any suggested changes. The chair of the
Finance Committee, Mayor Ira, is recommending that the Investment Policy be approved
without a formal meeting of the Finance Committee due to the fact that there are no
proposed changes to the Investment Policy.

The Investment Policy is attached for your review.

Bria~~~P--

Director of Finance and
Financial Planning

/-\
/" / - if
..' /.

)/'I'~

Edward P.
