Recommendation: This report is for informational purpose only. There is no staff recommendation. Mr. Malcolm Smith, Public Communications Manager, gave an overview of the survey and trends in community perception of City services. He noted that the survey will be posted online and publicized for community access and introduced two of the researchers, Brian Godbe and Amelia Davidson, to go over the presentation (presentation on file). They provided detailed information on the survey and sampling processes as well as highlights of some of the results. Council Discussion: Various Council questions and discussion included the following: whether or not any of the results seemed surprising; interest in education and youth activities; whether or not the people who attend Council meetings may be the same groups of people who watch meetings on television or on the internet; could people have been surveyed more than once in the random surveying; the survey being helpful knowledge for the City and the JOINT CITY COUNCIL /REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD January 24, 2011 MEETING MINUTES PAGE 5 MINUTE BOOK NO. 63 Page No. 260
