The City Clerk opened the ballot and announced the result stating: One vote was cast <br /> in support of the ballot measure and no votes were cast in opposition to the proposition. <br /> Therefore, the ballot measure was approved with a 100% vote in favor. <br /> 3. Approve by resolution, the results of the special election and the order of <br /> changes to the proceedings regarding the CFD, and certain matters with <br /> respect thereto. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 15104 DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION <br /> AND ORDERING CHANGES TO THE PROCEEDINGS REGARDING CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. 2010 -1 (ONE MARINA) <br /> AND APPROVING CERTAIN MATTERS WITH RESPECT THERETO <br /> M/S Gee /Pierce to declare the election results. Motion carried unanimously by <br /> voice vote. <br /> 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Members Reports of Conferences /Meetings Attended. <br /> Council Member Pierce announced that tomorrow is World Water Day and she thanked <br /> all those who will be honored for their work. She also reported on the San Mateo <br /> County Rail Corridor Partnership and how certain cities have begun meeting on a <br /> collaborative approach to address concerns and discuss plausible options. <br /> Council Member Foust referred to an anonymous letter the Council received and she <br /> would like to encourage that person to contact the Council directly. The letter had <br /> comments about Council's actions on Redevelopment. Secondly, she commended the <br /> Historic Resources Advisory Committee and the Planning Commission for pursuing the <br /> designation of "Preserve America Community." In particular she thanked Nori Jabba a <br /> long time community member. Council Member Foust also thanked Paul Sheffield for <br /> his help with concessions during these tough budgetary times. She then noted that the <br /> Sequoia Awards was a huge success and she expressed her pride in $130,000 that <br /> was given out to scholarship recipients. <br /> Council Member Gee reported that the Bayfront Canal meeting will take place this <br /> Friday with neighboring jurisdictions. He explained the Ad Hoc Committee is looking <br /> forward to designing solutions that will benefit all. <br /> B. City Manager (Oral) Update. <br /> Dr. Bell, Interim City Manager, provided a brief update on the following topics: <br /> • Redwood City will start the installation of six new electric vehicle charging <br /> stations in Redwood City and these will be available to the public <br /> • The annual spring cleaning Pride and Beautification Committee event will <br /> take place on April 30, 2011 at 1400 Broadway the Municipal Service Center <br /> • A successful event called KinderCard Super Saturday at the library attracting <br /> over 1,600 kindergartners <br /> • Our Finance Department (Information Technology Division) has been hired <br /> by the City of Burlingame to implement infrastructure <br /> • Our Fire Department, through a grant received from FEMA, will purchase a <br /> fire boat <br /> JOINT CITY COUNCIL /REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD March 21, 2011 <br /> MEETING MINUTES PAGE 7 <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 63 <br /> Page No. 293 <br />
