Zoning Ordinance Amendments Establishing the Mixed Use Corridor <br /> Zoning District. (602) �. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Hold Public Hearing and introduce an Ordinance, which amends Article 53 of the <br /> Zoning Code to establish the "Mixed Use Corridor Zoning District," and which <br /> makes associated revisions throughout the Zoning Code. <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING (1) ARTICLE 53 OF THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE MIXED USE CORRIDOR ZONING DISTRICT, (2) <br /> ARTICLES 2, 3, 30 AND 33 OF THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> RELATED TO THE MIXED USE CORRIDOR ZONING DISTRICT, (3) ARTICLES 4, 5, <br /> 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 24, 29, 31 AND 35 OF THE REDWOOD CITY <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE TO CORRECT CROSS-REFERENCES THEREIN, and (4) THE <br /> ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ESTABLISHED BY ARTICLE 60 OF <br /> THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE THE BOUNDARIES OF <br /> THE MIXED USE CORRIDOR ZONING DISTRICT MINUTE ORDER 11-084 <br /> Ms. Jill Ekas, Planning Manager, gave some introductory remarks about these changes <br /> with are spillover from our New General Plan. She introduced Lisa Brownfield, the <br /> consultant, who covered the Mixed Use Corridor Draft Zoning Ordinance (presentation <br /> on file) and all the possibilities it entails. Ms. Brownfield spoke on the purpose and <br /> vision, the mixed use corridor zone and the possibilities, the five sub-districts, and the <br /> development standards. The five sub-districts are: EI Camino Real, Gateway <br /> Broadway, Redwood Creek, Streetcar Broadway and Veterans Boulevard. She also <br /> explained design standards and guidelines and provided details on the addendum. <br /> Vice Mayor Aguirre opened the Public Hearing. <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> M/S Bain/Gee to close the Public Hearing. Motion carried 6-0 by voice vote with <br /> Mayor Ira absent. <br /> One Council Member wanted to details on the public noticing. Ms. Ekas said that the <br /> mailer was taken out of the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) database and it is <br /> extracted from the assessor's office and the 4,000 notifications that went out were for <br /> the Planning Commission and the Study Session. There were also newspaper ads and <br /> e-blasts. She explained that one of the comments at the Study Sessions was to reach <br /> out to the Fair Oaks Neighborhood and staff did so. One Council Member thanked Ms. <br /> Ekas for her work in making this an innovative and enabling document. Ms. Ekas <br /> acknowledged retired Tom Passanisi for his work on this matter.
