SMITH-EMERY GEOSERVICES <br /> <br /> August 25, 1997 <br /> Proposal No.: SF 97-090 <br /> <br />INSPECTION SERVICES <br /> <br />Smith-Emery OeoServices proposes to provide a multi-disciplined senior soils <br />teehnieian for this project in order to assure compliance with project plans & <br />specifications. This technician will provide inspections, schedule material testing and <br />keep the SEG staff engineer aware of project progress. The technician will have the <br />scope of work and schedule to assess project status with our staff engineer and the owners <br />representative on a regular basis. <br /> <br />LABORATORIES <br /> <br />Smith-Emery Company maintains a full service, state-of-the-art materials testing and <br />inspection laboratory with geotechnical and environmental facilities located in San <br />Francisco, minutes from the project site. We also maintain several other permanent <br />laboratories located in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Yorba Linda, and on the East Coast. <br /> <br />CURRENT PROJECTS <br /> <br />Smith-Emery Company provides material testing and inspection services throughout the <br />greater Bay Area and the State of California. Current projects and Clients include: The <br />City and County of San Francisco, Lockheed/Martin Missiles and Space Company, San <br />Francisco International Airport, NASA Ames Research, United States Veterans <br />Administration, GSA, USGS, Kaiser Permenente, Circuit City, UCSF, U.S. Army Corp. <br />of Engineers, Bay Area Rapid Transit, City and County of Sacramento, Bayer <br />Laboratories, Stanford University, IT Corporation, and the Santa Clara Transportation <br />Authority. <br /> <br />PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND PROCEDURES <br /> <br /> Smith-Emery GeoServices will work with the City of Redwood City's project team <br /> towards the common goal of successfully completing the 1996-1997 Watermain <br /> Replacement project by providing professional inspection & testing services as-needed, <br /> on a timely basis and as directed by the Project Manager. We will assist and work closely <br /> with the project team in every way possible to assure that the inspection and testing <br /> requirements are met both in the field and in the laboratory. <br /> <br /> Smith-Emery GeoServices will provide the necessary engineering back-up to <br /> immediately address any problem that may arise, and resolve problems quickly and <br /> efficiently. Our goal is to help the project run as smoothly as possible, and avoid any <br /> construction delays.
