GRANT of FRANCE=,, The franchise (a) to use, for transmitting and distributing electricity within the City of Red. wood City, for any and all purposes other than those authorized under said constitutional franchise, all poles, wires, conduits and appurte- nances which now are or may hereafter be lawfully placed in the streets within said city, and (b) to construct and use in said streets all poles, wires, conduits and appurtenances, including communication cir- cuits, necessary or proper for said purposes, is hereby granted to Pacific Gas and Electric Company, upon the terms and conditions in this ordinance prescribed. Section 3. ACCEPTANCE AND w The franchise granted hereunder shall not become effective until the grantee shall have filed with the City Clerk written acceptance thereof. When so filed such acceptance shall constitute a coati ng agreement between the grantee and the city that (1) if and when the city shall thereafter annex, or consolidate with, additional territory, all franchise rights here- under shall automatically extend and apply to such added territory, and (2) that any and all other franchises, rights and privileges of the nature herein granted now owned by the grantee herein, excepting said constitutional franchise, shall be deemed to be abandoned within the li.t s of such territory. section .v said franchise shall be for an indeter- minate term or period from and after the effective date hereof, that is to' say, said franchise shall endure in full force and effect until (2)
