MINUTE ORDER <br /># 79 -82 <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK, REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA <br />DATE May 8, 1979 <br />Attention Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Civic Cultural Commission <br />Parks and Recreation Director <br />In the Matter of Recommendation re consolidation of Park and Recreation/ <br />Civic Cultural Commissions <br />At the meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on <br />May 7, 1979 , at which were present <br />Councilmen Biagi, Bury, Leipzig, Norris, Rhodes and Mayor Barrett <br />I <br />on motion of Councilman Leipzig , seconded by <br />Councilman Norris duly carried and entered <br />on the minutes, it was ordered to accept the recommendations contained in <br />subject report <br />(Recommendations are <br />"1 that present Commissions establish a working <br />liaison between the two Commissions which <br />would result in greater coordination as well <br />as support for mutually acceptable programs, <br />2 that the restriction that no memher shall be <br />eligible for appointment to a consecutive <br />term of office to the Civic Cultural Com- <br />mission be rescinded and that future <br />appointments be treated in the same manner <br />as the other City Commissions with respect <br />to tenure, and <br />3 that an investigation be made into the pos- <br />sibility of transferring culturally <br />oriented programs, which have been tradi- <br />tionally conducted through recreation pro- <br />gramming, to the Civic Cultural Commission <br />for their responsibility ") Pk <br />
