Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Councilman Biagi, <br /> to eliminate the position of Admim strative Assistant in ,the <br /> Police Department effective July 1, 1977 (instead�of deleting <br /> the position January 1, 1978 as recommended). , <br /> , , �` _ . _ t <br /> Discusston followed relating to the dec7sion last May by Council <br /> to delete one Admim strative Assistant position; the fact that <br /> the incumbent, as well as the department involved had little time <br /> to ad�ust to the loss of,the position, that had it not been for <br /> unexpected Title II funds, there would have been no t�me to make <br /> the ad,7ustment, and pro,7ects in which the Administrative Assis- <br /> tant was involved related among other things to studies on fire <br /> , prevention, which the incumbent had_no time to complete, and in <br /> fact, are still not completed, necessity to allow suffi cient <br /> time for the transit�on and to ad�ust for work in progress so <br /> that the work can be phased out, therefore the recommended date <br /> of January l, 1978 for the posit�on to be deleted.
