� � 275 <br /> RESOLUTION NO 7810 APPROVIN6 PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CON- <br /> STRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT AT THE INTERSECTION OF <br /> ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS AND EDGEWOOD ROAD AND AT THE INTERSECTION <br /> OF ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS AND WHIPPLE AVENUE IN THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS <br /> ' THEREFOR <br /> The resolutions were adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> Approval of plans and specifications - <br /> E1 Camino Real Pro�ect <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of May 20, 1977 regarding <br /> the approval of plans and specifications for E1 Cam�no Real Pro,7ect <br /> and attaching report from the Director of Public Works, dated May 16. <br /> MOTION Councilman Rhodes moved that the plans for the E1 Camino <br /> Real Pro,7ect be amended to eliminate the "skip parking" feature as <br /> part of the plan. <br /> In response to question, Director of Public Works Pusich advised <br /> that the parking spaces which were elim�nated by the pro,7ect are pri- <br /> mar�ly at intersections where the space was needed for turning lanes <br /> in order to improve safety on E1 Camino <br /> A1 Davies E-Z Davies Chevrolet, su9gested he represents the business- <br /> men and property owners on E1 Camino in ob�ecting to the pro,7ect and <br /> the lost parking spaces. Mr Davies complained of not having received <br /> notice of Council's intent to consider approval of plans and specifi- <br /> ; cations It was explained that the only matter before Council is <br /> approval of plans and specifications and to authorize call for bids <br /> on the previously approved pro�ect, that all required public hearings <br /> on the sub,7ect have been held, that although no notice is required <br /> with regard to Council consideration of plans and specifications, <br /> the Agenda Digest publ�shed in the Redwood City Tribune on May 21, <br /> 1977 included that �tem, and that other property owners and business- <br /> men on E1 Camino do not appear to ob,7ect to the pro�ect to improve <br /> that street. <br /> The motion died for lack of a second <br /> MOTION T�tle having been read, Councilman Norris introduced the <br /> following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, its <br /> adoption <br /> RESOLUTION NO 7811 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS AND CHANGES ALONG STATE <br /> HIGHWAY ROUTE 82 (EL CAMINO REAL) <br /> In response to question, Mr Pusich advised that only the minimum <br /> number of parking spaces requ�red to accommodate the pro�ect were <br /> eliminated and it would not be poss�ble to restore a single space <br /> and reta�n the pro�ect. <br /> ' The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote <br /> � -7- Reg.Mtg <br /> 5/23/77 <br />
