397 <br /> Consent Calendar (continued) <br /> Approval of warrants nos. 32,048 through 32,165, totaling <br /> $287,937 92 <br /> , The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote <br /> MOTION Title having been read, Councilman Barrett moved, seconded <br /> by Councilman Bury, adoption of the following ordinance• <br /> ORDINANCE N0. 1722 FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE RAISED BY <br /> T XATION UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN GENERAL IMPROVEMENT <br /> DISTRICT NO 1-64 TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR GENERAL IMPROVEMENT <br /> DISTRICT N0. 1-64, AND FIXING AND LEVYING THE TAX RATE THEREFOR <br /> (approved 8/22/77) <br /> Peter Gruchala, President, Redwood Shores Homeowners Association, <br /> read his letter of September 12, 1977, copies of which were dis- <br /> tributed to the City Council, regarding the increased level of <br /> district taxes and the desire of property owners in the district <br /> to have a tax reduction. <br /> Corranent was made concerning the great increases in value re- <br /> cently of residential property in comparison to corrnnercial property <br /> and the general need for property tax reform. <br /> The ordinance was adopted on the following roll call vote: <br /> Ayes• Barrett, Bury, Rhodes, Vega and Mayor Leipzig <br /> ' Noes Councilmen Biagi, Norris <br /> Written Communications <br /> 1. Letter of resignation from Zelda Bergman, member of the Civic <br /> Cultural Commission <br /> MOTION Councilman Biagi moved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, <br /> to accept with regret the resignation of Zelda Bergman from the <br /> Civic Cultural Cortamssion and to order a Plaque for Distinguished <br /> Service prepared for presentation to her in recognition of her <br /> service. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO 77-205) <br /> Appointments - Fair Oaks Cormnunitv Center Advisorv Board <br /> Mayor Leipzig called attention to the applications of Jacqueline <br /> Washington and Annie Edwards for reappointment to the sub,7ect Board. <br /> Mayor Leipzig advised that no other applications had been received <br /> and that in view of the excellent service record of these members <br /> ' that interviews would not seem to be required <br /> MOTION Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Vega, to re- <br /> appoint Jacqueline Washington and Annie J. Edwards to the Fair Oaks <br /> Community Center Advisory Board and to cortunend them for their past <br /> service. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
