City Manager Fales, City Attorney <br /> Schricker, Assistant City Manager Smith, City Librarian Vollmayer, <br /> ' Assistant L�brarian Dempsey, Library Secretary Pearce, Deputy City <br /> Clerk Reggetts <br /> Re ort on Pro osed Build�n Pro ram <br /> for the Redwoo City Pub ic Library - <br /> President Daniel advised that the consultant, Mr. Raymond M. Holt, <br /> was present to cortenent on his report, and invited City Librarian <br /> Vallmayer to introduce Mr. Holt. Mr Vol]mayer provided a br�ef <br /> sketch of Mr. Holt's background and exper�ence as a librarian for <br /> the City of Pomona, and s�nce his retirement from that position, as <br /> a full time consultant for l�braries in many parts of the country. <br /> Mr Holt descrtbed his exper�ence in developing libraries in various <br /> other areas throughout the country, and commented on his Report <br /> (Building Needs for Today and Tomorrow: A Building Program for the <br /> Redwood City Public Library - October 1977) the purpose of whlch <br /> he said was to determine the needs of the client and that where <br /> certain functions are to be located, how much space is needed and how <br /> the space is to be used, requires the services of a good architect <br /> to ach�eve the resu7ts sought. He noted that the goal for Redwood <br /> City was to design a library in accordance w�th the directive of the <br /> Council that would not exceed 30,000 square feet, which has been <br /> 1 done, and that because of space limitations, some items had to be <br /> reduced in size or eliminated; that it is expected that the building <br /> will be very functional and will not require additional personnel. <br /> ` Jt.Mtg <br /> w/Library <br /> ,I,/,/21/77 <br /> ,� , , . . � , � .. � , � � � , ,. ., � �� . �, <br />
