She stated
that the charge for street sweeping has been included in the property
, tax and the only consideration given to the matter by Council was
that it might be more equitable to property owners if the charge
were made on the basis of actual use as are charges for water, sewer,
etc. rather than as part of the property tax where homeowners may
be subsdizing street sweeping of comnercial areas.
Councilman Norris referred to the report of the City Manager dated
May 12, 1978 attaching information requested at the Budget Study
Session of May 6 and urged that with regard to the list of surplus
vacant property that efforts be made to dispose of it as expeditiously
and advantageously as possible. It was explained that the property
is frequently small, odd-shaped pieces of little value to anyone
and previous attempts to sell some parcels were not successful, but
that the City is interested in doing so.
Adournment
MOTION.
