�- <br /> , 3�3a5 <br /> , <br /> LIBWIRY (continued) <br /> 2 Fair Oaks Branch library <br /> MOTION Councllman Bury moved, seconded by Councllman Leipzig, to <br /> autAorize reopening of the Fair Oaks Branch Library for 25 hours <br /> per week <br /> ' City Librarian Vollmayer advised that the recommendation is to <br /> operate on a 5-day week basis, and only in the afternoons <br /> Howard Cahill (see above) commented on the meals program at the Center for <br /> senior citizens, and suggested this could be coordinated with the hours the <br /> Library is open <br /> Sally Salinas Pro,7ect Coordinator, Senior Citizens Drop-In Center, <br /> sudnitted to Council a printed tabulation entitted "Program Deficit <br /> Operational Expenses 1978-79" and expressed support�for reopening <br /> the Fair Oaks Branch Library <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> 3 General Library Support <br /> 4 Audio Visual Center . <br /> 6 Outreach Service InterbrancA Loans <br /> MOTION Councilman Biagi moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, to <br /> take no action on Prior�ities 3, 4 and 6 <br /> The motian carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> 5 Baoks and Book Processing <br /> MOTION Councilman Biagi moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, <br /> that no action be taken on Priority No 5 <br /> Mr Vollmayer advised that there is a direct relationship between <br /> hours the library is open and the number of books to be purchased, <br /> and indicated concern with regard to mainta9ning the quality and <br /> size of the book collection and that funds are 1lmited for sending <br /> , books out for rebinding. In response to question by Council, he <br /> noted that the requests have gone through the Library Board <br /> The motion carried by the following roll call vate y <br /> qyes Biagi, Leipzig, Norris, Rhodes � <br /> Noes Bury, Chandler, Mayor Barrett <br /> Human Services Assistance Proqrams <br /> Sally Salinas (see above) responded to refe�ence made by Council to the <br /> deficit statement, describtng their efforts to obYafn fands through other <br /> agencies and private groups <br /> MOTION.
