PUBLIC WORKS Re lacement of deterloratin under round ser es street a t ny c rcu ts MOTION Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Chandler, to authorize replacements of the circuits for the McGarvey Area and Carson Area Systems The motton carried by ma,�ority voice vote GENERAL Mr. Balsamo (see above) comnented that certain corporetions in Californta are ' turning over funds gained due to Proposition 13 to the cities, and wondered if Redwood City has been approached to receive some of these funds Assistant C1ty Manager Smith advised that those corporattons that are interested want to do it for high vistbility type services In response to a suggestion by Council that the funds saved be placed into Reserves, City Attorney Schricker advised that under City ordinance, those funds will automatically be placed into Reserves Convention end Vtsitors Bureau MOTION Councilman Bury moved, seconded by Councilman Letpzig, that 1% of the 8% Transtent Occupancy Tax be authorized as the contrlbutlon to the Convention and Visitors Bureau During the discusston which followed, it was determined that other cities have amended their contracts with the Bureau The motion carried unanimously by voice vote -10- Budget Study 9/30/78 ' ��.
