3 �3:� MOTION Councilman Biagi moved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, that Councilman Leipzig be elected to the two-year term of Mayor. The motion carried on the following roll call vote ' Ayes Councilmen Barrett, Biagi, Bury, Leipzig, Norris Noes. Councilmen Henderson, Rhodes Councilman Leipzig was declared elected Mayor. The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date at 9:35 p m. with Mayor Leipzig presiding. Roll Call Councilmen present Barrett, Biagi, Bury, Henderson, Norris; Rhodes and Mayor Leipzig ^ Councilmen absent None Mayor Leipzig presented Plaques of Distinguished Service to former Mayor Ray A Weymouth and former Vice Mayor James S. Willtams and expressed her appreciation to them for their assistance and coopera- tton during her term on the Council and offered the thanks of the Council for their many years of service to the City. , Nomination and election of Vice Mayor MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved that the same procedure used for election of Mayor be retained as the procedure for electing the Vice Mayor MOTION WITHDRAWN: Upon the advice that since the action establish- ing the procedure has not been rescinded, it remains in effect, Councilman Henderson withdrew her motion. Counctlman Henderson requested that her name be withdrawn from con- sideration for the office of Vice Mayor Councilman Bury requested that his name be withdrawn from consider- ation for the office of Vice Mayor. Mayor Leipzig then requested that Council members proceed to vote for a nominee for the office of Vice Mayor, noting that four votes are required for the nomination.
