� - - <br /> 2 44 <br /> Mayor Weymouth advised that the framed, sealed parchment copy of <br /> the resolution will be presented to Mr Gerfen at a dinner in his <br /> honor on January 15. <br /> Public Hearing - ' <br /> Pro osed Com rehensive General Plan <br /> continued from 11/11 and 1 8/75 <br /> City Manager Fales brought Council up to date on the status of <br /> their consideration of the proposed Comprehensive General Plan <br /> and referred to the following material from staff provided in re- <br /> sponse to Council request: 1) memorandum of January 9, 1976 from <br /> the Planning Director to the City Manager entitled "Responses to <br /> Testimony at the Public Hearing on the Proposed General Plan", and <br /> 2) letter of the City Attorney to Council entitled "Recent Pre- <br /> sentation Before the City Council Regarding the Content of Proposed <br /> Housing Element of the Redwood City General Plan" relating to <br /> statements made by Ted W Gillis before Council on December 15, 1975. <br /> Mayor Weymouth reminded Council that the public hearing on the <br /> sub�ect Plan remains open and invited anyone present who has not <br /> spoken before or who has something new to add to speak. <br /> In response to question, City Attorney Schricker advtsed that the <br /> procedure for incorporating into the Plan the recommendations con- <br /> tained in the Planning Director's memorandum is merely to direct <br /> by motion that the recormnendations be included in the Plan <br /> Harr Jackson, Attorney representing Mobil Oil Estates (Redwood) <br /> Limite and Mobil Oil Estates (Bair Island Investments) Limited, ' <br /> requested that the letter to Council of January 9, 1976 from Eugene <br /> Masciarelli, Pro�ect Planner, be incorporated into the sub�ect <br /> proceedings. <br /> There being no ob,7ection, Mayor Weymouth ordered the letter of <br /> Mr Masciarelli to Council dated January 9, 1976 incorporated <br /> into the proceedings relating to the proposed Comprehensive <br /> General Plan. <br /> In response to question as to why the points raised in the <br /> Masciarelli letter had not been raised earlier, Mr. Jackson ad- <br /> vised that Mobil did not understand the inconsistencies between <br /> the Special Area Plan and the General Plan and how they might be <br /> resolved, since it had been assumed the Special Area Plan would <br /> govern, and that the full extent of the reporting and detail sup- <br /> porting the General Plan were not known,observing that some ques- <br /> tions emerged from recent discussion with City staff <br /> Discussion followed and Mr Fales, Mr Schricker and Planning <br /> Director Schroeter corronented and replied to questions concernin9 <br /> the desirability of taking the Mobil letter under advisement for <br /> evaluation by staff, the fact that the public hearing may be <br /> closed now and final action suspended for decision pending a staff <br /> report on the cortununication from Mob�l, and the desire of Council <br /> to have additional staff information on the contents of the letter ' <br /> Mayor Weymouth again invited anyone present who wished to speak <br /> to do so.
