Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman 9ury for the purpose of discussion, to include in the Capital Improve- ments an amount of $7,500 for installation of the fountain MOTION WITHDRAWN At the suggestion of Councilman Norris that the item be held for consideration until completion of this part of the budget, Mr Barrett, with consen� of �is second, withdrew the motion MOTION Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, to deiete $194,9Z4 from Capital Improvement Outlay, Red Morton Commumty Park Discussion related to concern that the Sales Tax Revenues which are used for Capital Improvements, have been reduced from previous years, the suggestion that rather than the total pro�ect, certain °, elements among those listed for improvements of Red Morton Park � might be eliminated instead Mr Fales commented and responded � to questions, indicating that among alternatives is the suggest�on that another way to fund parks improvement is by Revenue Sharing Funds remaining after subtracting other pro,7ects. - �. The motion carried on the following roll call vote Ayes Councilmen Biagi, Bury, Norris, Rhodes, Mayor Leipzig s e Noes Councilman Barrett Mr Fales continued his review of the Program Detail under General City, and discussion reiating to the Fair Oaks Community Center related to the need for additonal remodeling. MOTION• Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, to defer a decision on the Fair Oaks Community Center until there has been an opportunity to pursue with the County the question of their paying an equal share for maintenance Zuma Francis, (see above), enumerated some structural and other problems she has observed with re9ard to the building Mr. Fales noted that the County adopts its budget much later than Redwood City, and the alternative would be to have the Board of Supervisors make a commitment by vote before they adopt their budget, as to whether it will be ancluded in their budget or not The problem will be in getting the matter before the Board of ' Supervtsors within the time limits The motion carried"on the following roll call vote Ayes Councilman Barrett, Biagi, Norris, Rhodes, Mayor Le7pzig Noes Councilman Bury (MINUTE ORDER NO 76-143) -7- Budget Study 5/22/76 y
