Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman 9ury <br /> for the purpose of discussion, to include in the Capital Improve- <br /> ments an amount of $7,500 for installation of the fountain <br /> MOTION WITHDRAWN At the suggestion of Councilman Norris that the <br /> item be held for consideration until completion of this part of <br /> the budget, Mr Barrett, with consen� of �is second, withdrew the <br /> motion <br /> MOTION Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, <br /> to deiete $194,9Z4 from Capital Improvement Outlay, Red Morton <br /> Commumty Park <br /> Discussion related to concern that the Sales Tax Revenues which <br /> are used for Capital Improvements, have been reduced from previous <br /> years, the suggestion that rather than the total pro�ect, certain <br /> °, elements among those listed for improvements of Red Morton Park <br /> � might be eliminated instead Mr Fales commented and responded <br /> � to questions, indicating that among alternatives is the suggest�on <br /> that another way to fund parks improvement is by Revenue Sharing <br /> Funds remaining after subtracting other pro,7ects. - <br /> �. The motion carried on the following roll call vote <br /> Ayes Councilmen Biagi, Bury, Norris, Rhodes, Mayor Leipzig <br /> s <br /> e Noes Councilman Barrett <br /> Mr Fales continued his review of the Program Detail under General <br /> City, and discussion reiating to the Fair Oaks Community Center <br /> related to the need for additonal remodeling. <br /> MOTION• Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, <br /> to defer a decision on the Fair Oaks Community Center until there <br /> has been an opportunity to pursue with the County the question of <br /> their paying an equal share for maintenance <br /> Zuma Francis, (see above), enumerated some structural and other <br /> problems she has observed with re9ard to the building <br /> Mr. Fales noted that the County adopts its budget much later <br /> than Redwood City, and the alternative would be to have the Board <br /> of Supervisors make a commitment by vote before they adopt their <br /> budget, as to whether it will be ancluded in their budget or not <br /> The problem will be in getting the matter before the Board of <br /> ' Supervtsors within the time limits <br /> The motion carried"on the following roll call vote <br /> Ayes Councilman Barrett, Biagi, Norris, Rhodes, Mayor Le7pzig <br /> Noes Councilman Bury <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO 76-143) <br /> -7- <br /> Budget Study <br /> 5/22/76 y <br />
