4 74 <br /> Writt�n Comnunications <br /> 1 Memorandum of Vice Mayor Barrett to Mayor Leipzig and Members of <br /> the City Council of July 8, 1976 regarding the proposed consoli- <br /> dation of the Controller's and Treasurer's Departments. <br /> Vice Mayor Barrett referred to his memorandum, urging that a , <br /> study of the proposed consolidation be made <br /> � MOT-ION Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Biagi, <br /> to direct the staff to study consolidation of the Controller's <br /> and Treasurer's Departments into a Department of Finance or <br /> other appropriate name <br /> CLARIFICATION In response to question, Vice Mayor Barrett <br /> stated that it is the intent of his request that only a study of <br /> the possible effects of the proposed consolidation be made. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER N0. 76-206) <br /> San Mateo County Convention and Visitors Bureau <br /> Councilman Bury, representative to the sub,7ect Bureau, reported that <br /> there has been a substantial increase in the number of persons visiting <br /> the County in the past year over previous years and commended the <br /> Bureau for its work. <br /> San Mateo County Disaster Exercise ' <br /> Councilman Rhodes advised that he has been advised by Supervisor <br /> James Fitzgerald that a County Disaster Exercise will take place <br /> in San Mateo County on Friday, July 30, 1976 <br /> Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Peninsula <br /> Councilman Rhodes called attention to the letters directed to members <br /> of Council from Mrs. Isabel Roberts of the sub,7ect organization ob- <br /> �ecting to the fact that her organization was not permitted to enter <br /> a structure as a"float" in the Fourth of July Parade, and requested <br /> that the City Clerk be asked to write Mrs Roberts and advise her <br /> that decisions relating to participants in the Parade are made by <br /> the Peninsula Celebration Association and not the City Council. <br /> There being no ob�ection, Vice Mayor Barrett so ordered. <br /> (memo 7/13/76) <br /> Councilman Bury, member of PCA, advised that members of the PCA met <br /> with Mrs. Roberts and offered their cooperation to her in presenting <br /> a float which would have been acceptable <br /> Affirmative Action Report <br /> Councilman Norris called attention to the Affirmative Action Report , <br /> of July 9, 1976 submitted by the City Manager and stated his pleasure <br /> -8- <br /> Reg Mtg <br /> 7/12/76 <br /> __ <br />
