MOTION: Title having been read, Councilman Norris introduced the following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Yega, its ' adoption: � RESOLUTION N0. 7665 APPROVING SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR RESURFACING F DESIGNATED STREETS AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS � THEREFOR t f In response to questions, Director of Public Works Pusich Cescribed the resurfac�ng program and procedure, noting that an,inventory of the condition of all City streets is being put into the computer so that streets will be indicated for resurfacing, etc. on the bas9s of certain priorities. The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote. Cancellation of contract with W iams & cine, Consu tants Assistant City Manager Smith referred to the report of the City Manager from the Planning Director of July 30, 1916 and recommended that the contract with Williams & Mocine be terminated. ' Discussion followed concerm ng the City's disappointment with the performance of the consultants in connection with their portion of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. MOTION: Councilman Biag� moved. seconded by Councilman Vega. to authorize termination of the contract with Williams & Mocine in the manner provided for in the agreement, whereby the contractor would be paid for all services performed and all expenses incurred. Discussion continued and Mr. Smith commented and replied to questions regarding the Pact that staff will proceed with all of the work in- volved; the importance of looking closely at professional services contracts; the iact that the sub,�ect consultant en,�oys an ezcellent reputation but had encountered in-house adversities whicn affected their performance, and the fact that recent Saturdqy meetings re- garding the CDBG Strategy Plan indicates staff will do a good 3ob. The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
