2 `�.�t�! � <br /> � .. <br /> on the requested name change had been sent to the President of <br /> The Granite Rock Company on February 13 and an Agenda was sent <br /> on February 20. <br /> ' MOTION: Councilman Williams moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, <br /> to uphold the recommendation of the Planning Corrum ssion and deny <br /> the applicat�on of The Granite Rock Company to change the name <br /> of Blomquist Street to Granite Way. <br /> The rtrotion carried una m mously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO 76-44) <br /> Report of Park and Recreation Cormm ssion re <br /> Disposition of Caboose in Red Morton Community Park <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of February 19, 1976 <br /> attaching report of the Director of Parks and Recreation, dated <br /> February 6, on behalf of the Park and Recreation Cormmssion <br /> transmitting the Corrmnssion's reco�mnendation that the caboose <br /> in Red Morton Comnunity Park be declared surplus and that dis- <br /> posal be made of it. <br /> Discussion followed concerning the anticipation that the caboose <br /> would serve as an interesting, durable and relatively inexpen- <br /> sive play structure and the subsequent disappointment that abuse <br /> and misuse have caused staff and the Corrmission to recortonend <br /> disposal be made of the caboose. <br /> MOTION. Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> ' Williams, to accept the recortunendation of the Park and Recrea- <br /> tion Coimnission and to declare the caboose surplus property and <br /> to dispose of it <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> _ (MINUTE ORDER NO 76-45) <br /> Redwood Shores School Site <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of February 19, 1976 <br /> regarding the lease agreement with the Belmont School District <br /> regarding improvement of the sub�ect site, and attaching report <br /> of the Director of Parks and Recreation dated February 10 and <br /> to his report of February 19 regarding approval of plans and <br /> specifications and authorization to call for bids for improvement <br /> of the site, and attaching report of the Director of Public Works, <br /> dated February 9 Mr. Fales noted that the $55,000 GID No. 1-64 <br /> item has been carried over into the present budget <br /> Discussion followed and Mr Fales and City Attorney Schricker <br /> commented and replied to questions concerning the status of <br /> Mobil Oil Estates (Redwood) Limited with regard to the school ' <br /> site, if no school is built in the future, the status of the <br /> ' property, if a school is bu91t at some future date; the probability <br /> that the site will remain an active sports field; and the need <br /> for such a field in the Redwood Shores area now. <br /> -3- <br /> Reg.Mtg <br /> 2/23/76 <br /> �) <br />
