(MINUTE ORDER NO 76-44) Report of Park and Recreation Cormm ssion re Disposition of Caboose in Red Morton Community Park City Manager Fales referred to his report of February 19, 1976 attaching report of the Director of Parks and Recreation, dated February 6, on behalf of the Park and Recreation Cormmssion transmitting the Corrmnssion's reco�mnendation that the caboose in Red Morton Comnunity Park be declared surplus and that dis- posal be made of it. Discussion followed concerning the anticipation that the caboose would serve as an interesting, durable and relatively inexpen- sive play structure and the subsequent disappointment that abuse and misuse have caused staff and the Corrmission to recortonend disposal be made of the caboose. MOTION. Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Councilman ' Williams, to accept the recortunendation of the Park and Recrea- tion Coimnission and to declare the caboose surplus property and to dispose of it The motion carried unanimously by voice vote _ (MINUTE ORDER NO 76-45) Redwood Shores School Site City Manager Fales referred to his report of February 19, 1976 regarding the lease agreement with the Belmont School District regarding improvement of the sub�ect site, and attaching report of the Director of Parks and Recreation dated February 10 and to his report of February 19 regarding approval of plans and specifications and authorization to call for bids for improvement of the site, and attaching report of the Director of Public Works, dated February 9 Mr. Fales noted that the $55,000 GID No. 1-64 item has been carried over into the present budget Discussion followed and Mr Fales and City Attorney Schricker commented and replied to questions concerning the status of Mobil Oil Estates (Redwood) Limited with regard to the school ' site, if no school is built in the future, the status of the ' property, if a school is bu91t at some future date; the probability that the site will remain an active sports field; and the need for such a field in the Redwood Shores area now. -3- Reg.Mtg 2/23/76 �)
