J. Carl Ferrell, Carl's Smoke Shop, Jefferson Avenue, sug- <br /> gested t at the newstands 9n front of the Post Office are <br /> unsightly and present a hazard to pedestrians. Mr. Ferrell <br /> requested the Council look into having them removed or re- <br /> placed by something comparable to those on Broadway. Mr <br /> Ferrell offered to improve those in front of his place of <br /> business also. <br /> City Manager Fales advised the staff will look into the <br /> matter. (memo 2/24/76) <br /> Staff report on Temporary Signs <br /> Councilman Norris called attention to the complete staff report <br /> distributed to Council this evening from the Building Department <br /> regarding temporary signs in general and responding to the accusa- <br /> tions of Mrs Karen Handler, a proprietor of Pte-in-the-Sky, made <br /> at the February 9, 1976 meeting. <br /> Councilman Norris requested that the Minutes record his statement <br /> calling attention to the fact that one of the accusations had been <br /> withdrawn and that certain statements made by Mrs Handler had � <br /> proved to be inaccurate. Councilman Norris coirunended staff for <br /> the promptness and thoroughness of the report on the matter <br /> Councilman Norris also commended the Police Department for a re- <br /> port on a recent investigation and the manner in which the in- <br /> vestigation was conducted. <br /> Chief Building Official Gyselbrecht referred to his report of <br /> February 20, 1976 to the City Manager, advising that in the <br /> absence of any ob�ections from Counc�l his office will proceed <br /> to set up the cortenittee described (memo 2/24/76) <br /> Executive Session <br /> MOTION Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, <br /> to adjourn to executive session for the purpose of discussing <br /> litigation and personnel matters. <br /> The motton carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> Mayor Weymouth announced that the Council will reconvene solely <br /> for the purpose of ad,7ourning <br /> The Council ad�ourned to Executive Session at 9•07 p.m <br /> Ad,7ournment , <br /> Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council ad,7ourned <br /> at 9;33 p.m <br /> -8- <br /> Reg Mtg.
