Councilm�n Fletcher offered the � <br /> resolution, seconded by CouncilMan MeTJulty. On roll ca.l.l the resolution <br /> vras unanimously adopted. <br /> City �Ianager Mead advised he had prepared a-resolution authorizin� him to <br /> 2pply for $�1127.F�+ paid ton�axd sa].aries in regard to civilian defense. <br /> Councilman Armstrong oifered rESOlution, seconded by Councilnan Fletcher. <br /> On roll ca11 resolution w.as unanimously adopted. <br /> City td�azager P�4ezd reported that in response to a request made by Councilman � <br /> Gr�er in re�ard to pwmps not in service, there were si� iuzits of pumps <br /> that are surplus and not in use at the present time, horvever, he sa.id <br /> there was always the chance that the city mi�t neecl these pumps and <br /> inasmuch as he did not believe it Frould be possible to �obta.in more than <br /> �1.00 ner hourse poc�er he recorninended that the pumpa not be sold. Council- <br /> msn Graskqer asked what beca.�ne of the pumps which v�ere loca.ted at the <br /> C�ine property and wa.s adv3sed by City taIar:�,ger Me�.d that trvo tivere sold � <br /> about tv�o years ago and the others were sold before he became City <br /> �tana�er. Councilman Granger asked for a report as to hora much the pumps <br /> ti�ere sold for and the dates sold, City L+4an�,�er P�ead said he Nould aub- <br /> mit such a report. Councilman Granger then asked under tiahat Quthority <br /> these pumps �vere sold end whether or not they should he.ve been sold F;ith- � <br /> out obtainin� bifis. Gity Attorney McCart2�y expressed the opinion that <br /> the Chaxter requires bid on real property but not on peraonal property. <br /> He said he nad advised M Pdead to aavertise guns v��ich eaere to be sold <br /> but he did not believe it vra.s necessaxy for them to be appraised.
