On roll <br /> call the resolution wa,s unanimously adopted. <br /> Cfty Attorney PdcC�,rthy advised that he had been informed by Senator Parkme.0 <br /> to prepare a contract to be submitted to the Department of Finp,nce to O <br /> provide for the payment of �j750 for the next biennium for the maintenance <br /> of Union Cernetery. He said he had submiited this contr�,ct to the Finance <br /> Depar.tment. He presented a resolution authorizin� the City Attorney to <br /> approvethis contract �Frhen it is returned. Councilman �ranger offered <br /> the r2solution, seconded by Councilman Anderson. On roll call resolution <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> Councilman Gran�er moved that a letter be sent to Senator Parkman expressing � <br /> the Council's aopreciation for the allocation of funde for +he maintenance <br /> of Union Cemetery. The motion �vas seconded by CouncilmQn And_erson and <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> City Attorney McCarthy advised that City P�Iana�;er Pdead had requested him to <br /> prepare a resolution to be forvrarded to the Bozrd of Supervisors askin� <br /> them to tal�e some �ction to stop the practice of fortune telling in <br /> the unincorpor�.ted area. City �2an�.�er Pdead iniormed the Council that � <br /> the practice of fortune tellin�; is sprin�inr� up ,just outside the city <br /> limits anfl that surroundin� cities and counties were baesinp le�islation <br /> to sto� this bractice. He ��ras of the opinion that unleae San Adateo <br /> County took similar action, the area outside of Redwood City P�ould be <br /> the logic2l place for this type of practice. Councilman Anrierson offered � <br /> resolution to be forrrarded to the Boasd of Supervisors asking their sup- <br /> port in th3s matter, seconded by Counc�.Zman Granger.
