He stated that an estimate oY
providing a minimum water eyetem to provide for the requirements of the aver-
age industrial area would consist of a ten inch main on tue Broadovay.Exten-
sion from National Motor Bearing'Qompany easterly through the center oY the '
tract to Second Avenue, another ten inch main along Bay Road, an eight inch
main on the aaouth side of Bayshore Highway-and an eiht inch main conneoting
, on triree nortri and eouth streets. In order to aupplq water to this area, it
will be necessary.to make a new connection to the Hetch Hetchy eystem out
to the vicinity of Eleventh Avenue and, ae a part of tnie extension include
a sixteen inch main from Second Avenue to Eleventh Avenue to the Hetch
Hetcny at that point, The total cost to properly aerve this area without
service connectione would be $91,900. The new connection to the Hetch Hetchq
syetem would pronide a needed improvement to the general area lying between
this tract and tne bueiness dlatrict, He did not believe all the cost of the
improvemente of this system would be enargeable to the industrial tract,
,
Mayor Hilton appointed the membere of the Finanoe Committee to serve as the
VPater Committee to atudy the above question along with the other improvemente
to the water eyetem and the Yinancing.thereof.
