<br /> On roll call the following vrere present: Gouncilmen Harold F. Anderson, C. C.
<br /> Armstrong, Carl A. Britschgi, E. A. Flercher, Floyd D. Granger, George �l.
<br /> McNulty, Ma.yor W. W. Hilton and City Clerk R. 3. Dodge. Also present were:
<br /> ' City Manager E. VJ. Blom, City Attorney Paul A, McCarthy, City Collector
<br /> Nelle L. Miramontes, Police Cnief C. L. Collins, Deputy Fire Chief Jos. Lodi,
<br /> Street 9uperintendent H. L. Plinter.
<br /> Mayor Hilton announced that this meeting had been called for the purpose of can-
<br /> ' vassing tne ballote of the recent election held April 9, 1946, and the
<br /> a.ppointment of the newly elected councilmen:
<br /> City Clerk Dodge advised he had received three absentee ballots. The sealed ab-
<br /> sentee ballots were opened and tabulated by tne City Clerk and City Manager.
<br /> The results were as follows:

<br /> City Clerk Dodge and City Ma,nager Hlom onened the sealed precinct envelopee and
<br /> canvassed the results. The total remained unchanged from the unofficial count
<br /> Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcner, filing of affidavit
<br /> of' notification of election officers and publication of notice of election
<br /> 1 and nominees for public office of the general municipal election April 9,
<br /> 1946. �otion passed unanimously.
<br /> Councilman Anderson offered resolution declaring canvass of returns and result
<br /> of municipal election held April 9, 1946, seconded by Councilman Fletcher.
<br /> On roll call, resolution wae ,unanimously adopted.

<br /> DECLARING CANVA33 OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD .
<br /> . APRIL 9, 1946,
<br /> � VPHEREA3, a general municipal election was held in the city of Redwood
<br /> City, California, on the 9th day of April, 1946 at which three (3) members
<br /> of the City Council of saia City were to be elected and five (5) proposi-
<br /> tions or measures relating to proposed amendments to the Charter of said
<br /> City were to be voted on; and
<br /> Y9HEREAB, �:11 notices required in connection with said ntiunicipal elec-
<br /> tion were duly publiehed as required by law, as appears from affidavita of
<br /> publication thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk of eaid City;
<br /> and �
<br /> ' PIHEREA6, the.City Council of sz.id City ie the body required by law
<br /> to canvass the returns of said general municipal election; and
<br /> WHEREA3, it appears that said general municipal election was held in
<br /> accordance r�ith the law, on tne 9th day of April, 1946, as aforesaid, and
<br /> that the places for said election were kept open during the time required
<br /> by law, and said election was held and conducted and the votes thereat
<br /> received and canvassed, and the returns tnereof ascertained and declared,

<br /> at the hour of 8 o'clock o.m, on said day, the City Council of the City
<br /> of Redwood City met at ite usual place of ineeting and has canvassed the
<br /> returns of said general municipal election as required by law and the
<br /> result of,said election is found to be ae hereinaft�r stated and aet forth;
<br /> IT IS HEREBY RE30LVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED by the City Council
<br /> of the City of Redwood City, as Yollowa:
