W. Blom advieing that Mr. D._ Costantino, 616 iNhipple Avenue, owner of Lots 9 and 10, Block l, 9Pallace . .. � Subdivision, has requested the city to offer for sale the adjoining.Lot.11. ' The communication etated that Lot 11 has no_street accees and is usable only in conjunction vuith Lot 10. It the recommendation of the City Manager that the nalue of_,this be determined by the real estate com- � mittee and_that be advertised for sale on July 15, 1946. Oouncilman YPerder moved, seconded by Councilman Brita,chgi, that the City Manager's • recommendation be accepted. Motion passed unanimously. Communication wae received from Abe Jacobs, owner of the Redwood Town 3hop, re- questing that safety devices be installed at the railroad crosaing on Hroadway. Councilman Britechgi moned that the communication be referred to the Underpasa Committee fo,r a recommendation. This motion was not in favor hoveever, inasmuch ae the majority the Council felt some immediate action should be taken. After �some discuesion as to what safety devices ' would be most effective, Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that the matter be referred to the City Manager to contact the 9outheren Pacific Company to see that the necessary precautiona are taken at the Broadway croasing. Motion passed unanimouslq. Communication was received frora Ddre. David Livingstone requesting and notifying the Counoil to remove from Lota 4 and 16, Block 605, Emerald Lake Highlande, guq wires and anchors bracing the Easter Cross. The communication etated _ that legal action would be taken if the encroachment were not removed by � June 20, 1946.. City �Sanager Blom advised that the city wa.s enaroaching on thia property but that it would be very difficult to remove the guy wirea. St was the consensus of the Council that condemnation proceedings should be instituted to aaquire the property in question inasmuch as it would prob- ably cost more to remove the juy wires and anahors than it would to acquire ' the property. Citp Managei Blom advised it would not be desirable to aC- quire Lot 4 but that Lot 16 would be advantageous. Counoilman SYerder moved, seconded bY Qouncilman Armstrong, adoption of resolution suthorizing a condemnation suit be inetituted to acquire Lot 16, Block 605, Highlands ., ' of Emerald Lake. On roll call, resolution wae unanimously adopted. .
