Motion passed unanimously, <br /> , Communication was received from the Redwood City Traffic Study Committee recom- <br /> mending the installation of caution signs on Hudson Street at the inter- <br /> sections of Whipple,. Hopkins, Brewster, Jefferson and Roosevelt Avenues. <br /> It was the opinion of the.Committee that the placin� of stop signs at these <br /> ' intersections be deYerred until tha work on Hudson Street is completed and <br /> . a traffic aurvey made. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> MeNulty, that_the recommendation of the Traffic Study Committee be accepted <br /> and the necessary ateps be takeri to carry out the recommendation. Motion <br /> passed unanimously, <br /> C ommunication was received from City Manager Blom requesting authorization to <br /> � advertise for sale the Model 40, Multigraph Duplicator which has not been <br /> used since the W. P. A. project compiled an ordinance book in 1939. Qoun- <br /> gilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that the City Man- <br /> - ager be authorized to advertiae for eale the Model 40, Multigraph �Dupli- <br /> cator. Motion passed unanimously, <br /> Communication �vae received from the League of California Cities advising the <br /> ' next meeting of the Peninaula Division of the League would be held Thura- � <br /> day, July 25th. The Clerk noted those signifying their intention of <br /> attending, <br /> Councilman 4lerder seked for permiasion to leave the 3tate between the 25th of " <br /> July and the 5th of Auguet, Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Britachgi, that Councilman Y'�'erder be allowed to leave the 3tate ae <br /> requested, Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Communication wae received from Kirkbride & Wilson in regard to the Keneington <br /> • Square Sanitary Dietrict annexation. City Manager Blom advised that he had <br /> ` read the letter but would like more time to study the details of it before <br /> raaking a report to the Council. The letter was referred to the Citq Mana- <br /> ger for fuither etudy. <br /> Communication vuas received from the State Employees' Retirement Syetem. City <br /> 1 Clerk Dodge explained that the gist of the letter wae that it vuould be <br /> neceseary for the city to have an actuarial aurvey made vuithin the next two <br /> or three months in regard to a new plan which the 3tate Retirement Syetem <br /> is putting into effect. The plan, Citp Manager Blom explained ie now in <br /> ' effect so far as State employees are concerned but the adoption of the <br /> plan will be optional with the city. It pronides for a reduation in the . <br /> age of retirement and a monthly retirement oY $60 gua.r�nteed at the a.ge oY <br /> 60 after 20 yeare aernice., The city's contribution would be raiaed as well <br /> as the employees�. The coet oY the actuarial�survey to the city will be <br /> approximately $183.75, The city is obligated to have thie survey made.
